Sitting cross-legged
in the grass,
tall strands of green
sway with the breeze
caressing my legs.
I reach to pluck one
from the ground,
holding the long fiber
of forest green with my
soft fingertips.
Carefully bending
the flexible blade,
into a small heart,
tying the bottom;
a secure knot.
Although small,
it embraces deep love
and strong emotions
I feel for you;
only you.
I close my eyes,
slowly letting it go,
as it floats into the air...
Hoping someday,
it reaches you.
